Speech Therapy

Providing service through the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, Montgomery Hospital's nationally certified speech pathologists are available to evaluate and treat patients with oral pharyngeal, and esophageal problems. We offer video swallow studies during a comprehensive evaluation of swallowing function in coordination with our Radiology department. Respiratory therapists are also available to attend to pulmonary patients with special needs.

We offer services in the following areas:

  • Infant feeding problems
  • Pediatric speech and language delays and disorders
  • Stuttering or fluency disorders
  • Acquired speech/language disorders such as aphasia, dysarthria and apraxia of speech
  • Swallowing disorders in adults and children
  • Memory disorders associated with a neurological event such as stroke, head injury or tumor
  • Post-concussive cognitive disorders
  • Vocal fold dysfunction
  • Tongue thrust

Pediatric Services
Our speech pathologists provide quality assessment and intervention for infant, toddler, pre-school, school and adolescent age children with delays in speech and language development, hearing impairment, stuttering and voice problems.
