Hand Therapy

Certified hand therapists provide therapy to treat illnesses and injuries that limit hand and upper extremity function. 

Common conditions treated and services offered by the hand therapy specialists at Montgomery Hospital include:

• Wound care and scar management
• Post-surgical rehabilitation following upper extremity dislocations, fractures, arthroplasties and reconstructive procedures (total shoulder replacement, ligament reconstruction)
• Tendon repairs and transfers
• Conservative and post-surgical treatment of brachial plexus, thoracic outlet syndrome and peripheral nerve syndromes (i.e. carpal tunnel syndrome, ulnar nerve transposition)
• Tenosynovitis ( trigger finger, DeQuervain’s syndrome)
• Tendonitis, tendonosis and other soft tissue disorders (rotator cuff tendonitis, bursitis, tennis elbow, biceps tendonitis)
• Connective tissue disorders, such as rheumatoid and osteo-arthritis, lupus, scleraderma

• Lymphedema Management / Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD certified)
