Faculty Members
Hazel M. Bluestein, M.D.
is the Family Practice Program Director. She has been a faculty member of the Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program (MFPRP) for 21 years, and previously served as associate director since 1993. She completed her undergraduate work at Franklin and Marshall College and attended medical school at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation from the MFPRP, she completed a Fellowship in Faculty Development at Temple University School of Medicine, where she is a Clinical Associate Professor of Family Practice and Community Medicine. As director of the Montgomery Family Practice Center, Dr. Bluestein has responsibility for practice management. Special areas of interest include women's health and office surgery. Dr. Bluestein has been recertified by the American Board of Family Practice and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. She is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fornance Physicians, the hospital’s 75-physician multi-specialty practice. Dr. Bluestein is also Chairman of the Department of Family Practice at Montgomery. Her avocations include horticulture and Ikebana.
Kenneth J. Landin, M.D.

Susanna G. Evans, M.D.
is a Family Practice/Obstetrics faculty member. She attended college at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania and medical school at Pennsylvania State, in Hershey, Pa., Dr. Evans completed her residency training at Shasta-Cascade Family Practice Residency Program at the University of California, Davis. Following her residency she did a Fellowship in Obstetrics and rural family medicine in Tacoma, Washington. After completing her fellowship she worked full-time at a community health center in Tacoma Washington where she provided a full spectrum of family practice services.
Gina L. Rose, M.D.
graduated from Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program in June 2001. She was the first new Fellow in the Family Practice Hospitalist Fellowship Program at Montgomery. Dr. Rose graduated from Temple University School of Medicine, in Philadelphia in May 1998. Her academic honors include, the Dr. Joseph Nathan Grossman Prize in Family Medicine, Judy Shockman Memorial Fellowship in Lupus Research, Alumni Junior and Senior Scholarships. She has also received honors in 15 medical school classes and rotations. Dr. Rose has special interests in women's health and outpatient education.
Robert A. Solomon, M.D.
is a Faculty Associate. He has practiced in a private practice setting for 9 years before joining the Montgomery Family Practice Residency Program in 2003. He completed his undergraduate training at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, his medical school training at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA, and his residency training at DeWitt Army Community Hospital at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. He served as an active duty Army physician for 7 1/2 years and is presently a member of the Army Reserves. He has special interests in office procedures, sports medicine, anxiety and depression evaluation and treatment, dermatology, and travel medicine. He is Medical Director of Montgomery Home Care and is also a member of the Fornance Physician Board of Directors.
Robert S. Warren, M.D.
received a BA in the Biological Basis of Behavior from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990, and in 1996 received a Medical Doctorate from Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Warren is Board Certified in Family Medicine and completed his Family Practice Residency here at Montgomery Hospital in 1999. Subsequently he completed a Fellowship in Geriatric Medicine at Temple University Hospital, and has received a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics. He coordinates the geriatric curriculum, which includes longitudinal experience in Nursing Homes, Assisted Living, house calls for the residents. Dr. Warren is board certified in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and is Assistant Medical Director of Montgomery Hospice.
William H. Rodgers, III, M.D.
recently awarded the Pennsylvania Academy fo Family Physicians' 2004 Family Physician of the Year. He completed his undergraduate education at the University of Notre Dame and Medical School at Temple University School of Medicine. He was in private solo Family Practice for 15 years prior to bringing his practice here to Montgomery to become one of the founders of the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program. He was Director of the Montgomery Family Medicine Residency Program from 1979 - 1998. He was Chairman of the Montgomery Family Medicine Department from 1983 - 2002. He is a fellow of the AAFP Physicians and board recertified every 6 years since 1975 as a diplomate of the ABFP. Dr. Rodgers has received Preceptor of the Year Award and is a Clinical Associate of Family and Community Medicine at the Temple University School of Medicine. Currently Dr. Rodgers serves as a Faculty Associate.

Beverlee Ciccone, Ph.D.
Psychologist, is a part-time member of the residency faculty involved in the Behavioral Science Curriculum and Research. Dr. Ciccone is responsible for teaching, precepting and consulting with the residents in both the inpatient and outpatient settings utilizing the biopsychological model of healthcare. She facilitates Balint Seminars exploring the residency experience and the physician/patient/family relationships. Dr. Ciccone received her undergraduate, masters and doctoral degrees from Temple University combining programs in psychology and health education for a concentration in Health Behaviour. In addition, she trained at the Marriage Council of Philadelphia which was a division of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania, leading to her certification in marital, family and sex therapy.
Nilesh Patel, M.D.
serves as a part-time outpatient preceptor at the Montgomery Family Practice Center. He has a private practice in nearby Audubon, Pa. He attended medical school at the University of Glasgow Medical School in Scotland and completed his Family Practice Residency at Chestnut Hill Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. Prior to his Family Practice training, he completed a surgical residency in London and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (England). Dr. Patel became certified by the American Board of Family Practice in July 1994.
Peter B. Edde, M.D.
completed his residency at Montgomery Family Practice in August 2004, having been the chief resident in his third year. He became a part-time faculty member of MFPRP immediately following graduation. He now serves as an outpatient preceptor. He joined a private practice at nearby King Of Prussia Family Medicine. Dr. Edde completed his undergraduate studies, medical education and one year of Family Medicine training at the American University of Beirut in June 2001. He has special interest in office procedures, pediatrics, sports medicine, obesity and weight management.
Joan M. Grzybowski, D.O.
is the acting president of the Pennsylvania Osteopathic Family Physicians Society. At the Montgomery Family Practice Center Dr. Grzybowski has served as a part-time outpatient preceptor since 1997. She is a full-time Family Physician at Norriton Family Medicine. Her undergraduate training was completed at King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Dr. Grzybowski has an Associate's Degree in Clinical Health Science from Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. She attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She is the first woman recipient of the Fred J. Solomon, D.O. Award in 1994 for clinical education. Her special interests include preventive medicine, office procedures, and patient education.
David V. Mihalic, PharmD
serves as clinical pharmacist for inpatients at Montgomery Hospital and Faculty Associate to the Montgomery Family Practice Center. He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Temple University School of Pharmacy in 2000. He also has his Bachelor's in health sciences from Shippensburg University circa 1995. Dr. Mihalic works closely with the Family Practice Residency Program providing integral support to the inpatient rounding team while also precepting residents at the Family Practice Center. Dr. Mihalic is also certified by the American Pharmacists Association and the Pennsylvania Society of Health System Pharmacists to provide and administer immunizations to patients. His primary role in the hospital is that of Clinical Coordinator for the pharmacy department. In addition to the above, Dr. Mihalic also has past experience in the pharmaceutical industry in the area of regulatory affairs and drug approvals for Astra Zeneca.
