Mission
At the Montgomery Hospital Medical Center, Family Medicine plays the primary role in health care delivery in our community. Our 200 bed community teaching hospital has provided the setting for community-based, unopposed Family Practice Residency training since 1978. Our residency is affiliated with Temple University School of Medicine and is a regular clinical family practice clerkship site for third and fourth year medical students from Temple and MCP-Hahnemann/Drexel University College of Medicine.
Our dedicated Family Practice faculty and hospital-based specialists are committed to providing a comprehensive broad-based education in both inpatient and outpatient delivery of care. At Montgomery residents are provided with diverse opportunities and experiences to assist them in becoming competent, complete family physicians. Our graduate surveys consistently boast of quality education.
The Family Practice Center is an 11,000 square foot office with 14 exam rooms, a spacious procedure room, faculty offices, a resident’s lounge, a classroom, meeting room, and a library. Here, the residents and faculty serve our local community by providing comprehensive medical, pediatric, psychologic, procedural, gynecologic, and maternal healthcare. We hope to attract applicants who share our commitment to education through service to our community. We look forward to meeting you.
As the new director, I have instituted and initiated many changes in our program to further improve our residents’education and clinical experience. With my background and experience in Practice Management, I have unique ideas to teach residents to deal with their school loan commitments and prepare for their future practice of Family Medicine.
Hazel M. Bluestein, M.D. Program Director
