ANESTHESIOLOGY DEPARTMENT Montgomery Pain Center 610-270-2759
At Montgomery Hospital, anesthesia care is provided by an anesthesiologist, a physician who specializes in anesthesia, or by a certified registered nurse anesthetist (CRNA), under the direct supervision of an anesthesiologist. Anesthesia care is available for procedures on either a routine or an emergency basis, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. All anesthesia care is tailored to meet the needs of each individual patient so that he or she is comfortable and pain-free during the procedure. After major operations, specialized pain relief therapies are available for optimum postoperative pain management.
Anesthesiologists are also available 24 hours a day to provide labor pain relief for women in the Maternal and Child Care Center. Here epidural analgesia is used to minimize the pain of labor.
The Montgomery Pain Center is staffed by anesthesiologists who have subspecialty credentials in Pain Management.
